The formal session of the St Helena Public Accounts Committee (PAC) scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 19 October, was postponed and will now take place at 9.30am in the Council Chamber on Thursday, 27 October 2022.
The programme of business will focus on the St Helena Fisheries Corporation Financial Statements and Administrator’s Report for the years ended 31 March 2019, 2020 & 2021.
Members of the public and interested persons are invited to attend.

The Health Services Directorate would like to inform the public that with effect from Monday, 24 October 2022, the Dispensary Bus schedule to district clinics will change to accommodate the recent changes in the District Outpatient clinic schedule.

HM Customs would like to advise the public that they will be open to merchants only on Monday, 17, and Tuesday, 18 October 2022.
All normal operations, which includes all consolidated cargo from Richard James International, MS Atlantic Ltd, Umgusi SA, and Zedcore will resume on Wednesday, 19 October 2022.

The MT Sarah (fuel tanker) is scheduled to arrive at St Helena tomorrow, Saturday 15 October 2022, at approximately 12.40pm and will anchor in James Bay. On Monday, 17 October 2022, the MT Sarah will dock alongside Ruperts Jetty and bunkering operations will begin.
The public is therefore advised that the whole of lower Ruperts, including the beach area, will be closed to the public from 6am on Monday, 17 October 2022, and until bunkering operations are completed. These areas will be strictly prohibited and is limited only to those who have made prior arrangements with Port Control.

Port Control would like to advise the public that CCTV cameras are in operation at the Jamestown Wharf. The CCTV cameras are operational 24 hours a day and are in place for the purpose of crime prevention and public safety.

The Health Services Directorate would like to advise persons who are still feeling unwell after the five days isolation period of the following:
It is possible to still feel unwell after the five day isolation period for COVID-19; persons may still experience some of the symptoms or may no longer be experiencing the symptoms but generally feel unwell. This can continue for up to a week after having COVID-19. In such cases, persons are advised to continue to take paracetamol (as per instructions) if and when needed, rest, and drink plenty of fluids. You DO NOT need to do another COVID-19 test
Persons who continue to feel very unwell, even after following the advisory steps for treatment of COVID-19 at home, are advised to call the COVID-19 Helpline on tel: 25888 where they will be advised on next steps
Persons who are unable to take uncertified sick leave (due to having already utilised their annual allowance) and therefore require a doctor’s certificate are advised to call the Health Services’ Appointments Clerk on tel: 22321 to arrange a telephonic appointment with a doctor.
Persons who have recovered from COVID-19 but experience flu like symptoms soon after, are advised that it is unlikely that you have contracted COVID-19 again, but possibly have another viral illness.
The Health Services Directorate would like to advise the public that due to unforeseen circumstances the Optician did not arrive on-Island as planned. Therefore persons who recently received a letter informing them of their appointment dates and times with the Optician are advised of the following:
If you have received an appointment date prior to and including Tuesday, 8, November 2022, this will now be cancelled. To arrange another appointment with the Optician you are advised to contact the Ophthalmic Assistant, Bridget Henry, on tel: 22500 or via email: bridget.henry@sainthelena.gov.sh.
Persons who have received appointment dates after Tuesday, 8, November 2022, are not required to rearrange their appointments.
