  • Drop-In Session – Proposed Siren/Information System For Jamestown & Ruperts

    The Capital Programme Section will hold a public consultation drop-in session on the proposed locations for the installation of a Siren/Information System for Jamestown and Ruperts between 10am and 2pm on Thursday, 6 October 2022, at the Market, Jamestown.

    Members of the public are encouraged to attend and view the plans. We look forward to seeing you.

  • COVID-19 Helpline

    The Health Services Directorate would like to advise the public of the following: 

    • Due to a decline in the number of positive cases and calls  to the COVID-19 Helpline, with effect from today, Monday 26 September 2022, the COVID-19 Helpline (tel: 25888) will be in operation between 8am and 4pm on a daily basis, including the weekends.  
    • Persons who test positive are reminded that they are advised to isolate for five days, then return to work or continue their normal daily routines on day six. For example: if a person tests positive on a Monday, their isolation period is completed on a Saturday and can therefore re-enter the community on Saturday. You DO NOT need to re-test after the isolation period is completed.
    • Persons who have had a COVID-19 test done independently are reminded that if a positive test result is received, to please report this to the Health Services via the COVID-19 Helpline so the Health Services can track and analyse the rate of infection and update your medical record. Please inform the Helpline Operator of the date you tested positive.
    • If you tested positive last week or the week before and have not phoned in your result, we would still like to have your result to update your medical records.

    These meetings are an opportunity for you to meet with your District Representative and raise any issues you might have. Councillors will also take this opportunity to seek your views on the review of the Expert Election Mission Report.

  • Schools to reopen as normal on Monday

    The Education, Skills & Employment Portfolio would like to advise parents/guardians of all school aged children, from Nursery through to year 13, that all Primary Schools and Prince Andrew School will reopen as normal from Monday, 26 September 2022.

  • Pharmacy Closed on Wednesday’s

    The Health Services Directorate would like to inform the public that with effect from Wednesday, 28 September 2022, the Pharmacy will be closed on Wednesdays.

    The closure on Wednesdays will allow the Pharmacy staff to process the weekly medication orders for the General Hospital, the general public and for the Health Services Directorates’ care facilities.

  • Requirements For Isolating

    The Health Services Directorate would like to clarify the requirements for isolating once you have tested positive for COVID-19:

    Day one is the day you test positive. You are requested to isolate for five days from day one, then return to work or continue your normal daily routines on day six.

    For example: if you test positive on a Monday, your isolation period is completed on a Saturday and can therefore continue your normal daily routines on Saturday. If you self-test and are positive please call the COVID-19 Helpline on: 25888 to have your medical record updated.

    You are also reminded that once you have tested positive for COVID-19, you DO NOT require further COVID-19 testing in order to return to work or to continue your normal daily routines.

  • School Operation Times

    Parents/guardians of school aged children are advised that all schools will remain closed to all children tomorrow, Wednesday 21 September 2022.

    Primary schools will open on Thursday, 22September, and Friday, 23 September 2022, for children from Reception through to Year 6 only.

    Prince Andrew School will remain closed for the remainder of this week.

    It is anticipated that all schools will reopen as normal on Monday, 26 September 2022.

  • Dispensary Bus Service Cancellation

    The Health Services Directorate would like to advise the public that the Dispensary Bus service will be cancelled this week due to staff illness. It is anticipated that the Dispensary Bus service will operate as normal from Monday, 26 September 2022.

    If you require your medication in the meantime, please arrange collection from the Pharmacy in Jamestown on tel: 25867 or via email: pharmacy.prescriptions@shg.gov.sh. Otherwise medication will be distributed on the next Dispensary Bus service.
