  • ENRP Assets for Licensing

    ANRD wishes to advise the public that the following assets are available for licensing from May 2025:

    • Arable Land at Ropery Field
    • Arable land at SpringBok, Levelwood
    • Arable land at Millfield
    • Arable land at West Lodge
    • Produce Unit at Ex ADA Field
    • Equipment storage unit at Ex ADA Field
    • Poultry Unit at Farm Buildings

    Application forms can be collected from the Reception at the ENRP Office or by contacting the Farmers Support Officer, Frederick Green, at frederick.green@sainthelena.gov.sh or the Farmers Support Assistant, Martina Leo, at martina.leo@sainthelena.gov.sh.

    Closing date for application is Friday, 16 May 2025 at 16:00.

  • Notice for Jamestown Wharf Clean-Up

    The St Helena Port Control would like to notify the public that they will be conducting a clean-up of the Jamestown Wharf on Friday, 23 May 2025.

    All commercial and recreational boat owners and water users are advised to remove any items that are in use or not in use, held in the wharf areas.

    Port Control thanks the public in advance for their co-operation and understanding.

  • Arrival of MV Karoline

    The MV Karoline is scheduled to arrive at James Bay on Wednesday 23 April 2025 at 06:00. Weather permitting, the vessel will dock alongside Rupert’s Jetty and cargo operations will commence as soon as practicable.

    The public are therefore advised that the Port of Jamestown and the whole of Lower Ruperts including the beach area, will be closed from 06:00 on Wednesday 23April 2025, until all cargo operations are completed.

    These areas will be strictly prohibited and access will be limited to those who have made prior arrangements with St Helena Port Control.

    Boat owners and operators are advised that mooring on the ‘span’ mooring rope near the landing steps at the Jamestown Wharf is prohibited for the duration of cargo operations.

    The public are thanked in advance for their patience and co-operation.

  • Economic Development Investment Programme

    Middle Landing Steps

    Following the announcement of 11 March regarding the closure of the Middle Landing Steps, we are pleased to inform the public that they are now open for use, with immediate effect.

    Funding for this project was provided by the Economic Development Investment Programme (EDIP) – Micro Project, in partnership with the FCDO.

  • Customs Closure

    HM Customs would like to advise the public they will be closed on Tuesday 15, Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 April 2025.  This closure is due to the following reasons:

    • The MV Amadea will be in port from 15 to 16 April
    • The movement of containers by Port Control on 17 April

    Due to the above reasons, Jamestown Wharf will have restricted access, therefore all customers are encouraged to utilise the available opening hours on the 10, 11 and 14 April between 09:00 – 15:00.

    Normal operations will resume at the Jamestown wharf after the Easter holidays on Tuesday, 22 April from 09:00.

    HM Customs would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and the public are thanked in advance for their understanding and cooperation.

  • Central Support Service Closure

    Please be advised that the Central Support Service will be closed on Friday, 11 April 2025 to allow staff to attend their Away Day.

    These office closures will include the Legislative Council staff office, Statistics, the IT Section, Human Resources and Organisational Development, GIS, Administration Support, Archives, the Transport Section and the Comms Hub.

    The Castle switchboard will continue to be staffed until 16:00 and can be contacted on 22470 for any urgent matters.

    Normal business will resume on Monday, 14 April 2025, at 08:30.

    We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

  • Weather Warning – Unsettled Sea Conditions

    The Emergency Planning Department would like to inform the public that a North-westerly swell is forecast for Saturday, 12 April, to Monday, 14 April 2025. This may result in unsettled sea conditions in James and Rupert’s Bay.

    Swimmers should exercise extreme caution when entering the water in James and Rupert’s Bay.

    Vehicle owners are advised to avoid parking near the rails on the seafront, and individuals are asked to use caution when in close proximity to the railings due to the potential risk of wave overspray and associated hazards.

    Boat owners are urged to ensure their vessels are securely moored during this period.

    The Emergency Planning Department will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates as needed.

  • Cruise Ship MV Bolette Visit

    The cruise ship MV Bolette will arrive in St Helena at 07:00 on Wednesday, 09 April 2025. There are 990 passengers on board. 

    Tours are due to depart from Jamestown Wharf at 08:00. It is expected that the passengers will carry the following currencies:  Euros, Dollars and Great British Pounds (GBP). Currency exchange rate information is available from the Bank of St Helena and the Tourist Office.

    The MV Bolette will depart St Helena at approximately 17:00.

    Temporary One-Way Traffic System

    The public are advised that a temporary one way system will be in place on Wednesday, 09 April from 08:30 to 15:00 for the cruise ship visit.

    This system, designed to improve safety and reduce congestion, will direct traffic from Gordons Post towards Hutts Gate along Tomb Road. Vehicles traveling in the opposite direction will be diverted from Hutts Gate to Gordons Post via The Dungeon, as shown on the map below.

     This is a familiar procedure, used during previous cruise ship visits, and likely to be implemented again in the future.

    The one-way route will be clearly signposted and will be removed as soon as it is no longer necessary.

    We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the public for their understanding in this matter.

  • HM Customs Closure

    HM Customs would like to advise the public that their offices will be closed on Wednesday, 09April 2025 due to the arrival of cruise ship MV Bolette.

    Normal operations will resume on Thursday, 10 April from 09:00.

    HM Customs would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and the public are thanked in advance for their understanding and cooperation.

  • Restricted Access to Jamestown Wharf

    The public are advised that the Jamestown Wharf will be closed to all members of the public from 06:00 on Wednesday, 09 April 2025, due to the arrival of cruise ship MV Bolette. This area will remain closed until the vessel has departed the port.

    Access to Jamestown Wharf will be strictly prohibited and is limited only to those who have made prior arrangements with Port Control.

    Boat owners are also advised that during the time the ship is in port, no maintenance work will be permitted to be carried out on their vessels while it remains on the wharf.
